How does KEYSHIELD work?
  • KEYSHIELD uses advanced motion sensor technology to detect periods of keyfob inactivity.

  • When the keyfob is stationary for 20 seconds, the fob battery power is automatically disabled, preventing keyfob signal transmission.

  • When motion is applied to the keyfob, KEYSHIELD reactivates the battery power, enabling keyfob signal to be emitted.

How do I install KEYSHIELD on my car key?

Installing KEYSHIELD is simple.

  1. Open your key fob casing, locate & remove the CR cell battery. We recommend a new battery should be used when installing KEYSHIELD to ensure maximum perfomance.
  2. Carefully wrap the KEYSHIELD sleeve around the battery, ensuring the positive & negative terminals match the sleeve markings.
  3. Re-insert the battery with sleeve into the key fob, taking care not to force the battery & sleeve into the casing to avoid damage.
  4. Reassemble the key fob - your car is now fully protected by KEYSHIELD.

  • The recommended test to ensure KEYSHIELD is properly installed and fully working is to place your keyfob on the vehicle bonnet - after 20 seconds, the signal will be deactivated and the vehicle will automatically lock. By applying motion to the keyfob, the vehicle should now be able to be unlocked & accessed.

In-car display shows an error relating to no key detection - What is this?
  • Some vehicles may show an error message if a key fob is not constantly detected whilst in transit - this is likely to occur if the key fob has become stationary whilst in the car for a significant perioid of time, and the signal has been disabled.

  • To remove the error message, simply apply motion to the key fob to reactive signal transmission. Your vehicle should re-detect the keyfob.
